THE MT. ZION JR. YOUTH GROUP was founded in the late 1950's by Jane and Kenneth Beam and at that time it was called Christian Endeavor. Jane and Kenneth served as leaders for 26 years. Today the JYG is lead by Sherry Warrick who has served for the past 23 years, Felicia Stienour with nearly 16 yrs and Lori Brehm, with active support from Barry Steinour and Dave Warrick. Beginning in March 2008, Elizabeth Miller will be leading our 16yr and older members in Bible discussions.

"Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for strength, I promise him that I will strive to do whatever He would have me do; I will make it the rule of my life to pray and read the Bible everyday, I will support the work and worship of my church in every way possible; I will seek to bring others to Christ, And so far as I know how, I will endeavor to lead a Christian Life. "
JYG meets every Sunday evening from
6 - 7:30 PM. Our group ranges in age from 5 yrs to 20 yrs and is made up not only of members of Mt. Zion, but from
the surrounding community.
Each year the JYG provides the following benefits to the church:
1. Plants flowers along the Church parking lot
2. Provides the ladies banquet in May, and the mens banquet
in June
3. Provides peanut butter easter eggs after the easter service
In addition to this, we hold various dinners throughout the year to raise money to go to camp. This year, we introduced a “dinner & movie “ night. We provide dinner for a very reasonable price and invite everyone to come out and view a recently released movie at no charge.
Our goal each year is the Labor Day CE Retreat at Doubling Gap in Newville, Pa. CE Retreat has been held there for the past 62 years and Mt. Zion has been one of its strongest supporters with continued growth each year.

AND community with any special needs they can provide throughout the year and we invite anyone interested in active service
to God to come out and take part in Jr.Youth Group.
